Assessments

Current-State Health Check
Purpose
Establish a clear picture of the company’s current technology, product-delivery, and engineering-management health, with emphasis on “blocking and tackling” appropriate to its current stage.

Best fit
Companies that feel friction, inconsistency, cost, delay, or lack of confidence in technology execution, but are not yet ready to redesign the whole future-state strategy.

Gap-to-Goal Readiness Review
Purpose
Measure the gap between the company’s current state and a defined next-stage target, then identify the practical barriers that must be removed to get there.

Best fit
Companies that already know where they want to go, such as scaling delivery, preparing for investment, reducing delivery risk, professionalizing engineering leadership, or becoming ready for a full-time CTO.

Advisory

Purpose
Provide ongoing CTO-level guidance to the CEO and executive team so they can make better technology, product, budgeting, hiring, and prioritization decisions without adding a full-time CTO.

Best fit
Companies that have executive capacity to manage the daily operations but would like assistance with decisions, planning, budgeting, hiring, and accountability structures.

Fractional CTO

Purpose
Serve as the acting CTO on a fractional basis, leading the technology function, participating as part of the executive leadership team, and taking responsibility for technical direction, delivery performance, and team effectiveness.

Best fit
Companies who need a real fractional CTO need someone “inside the leadership team” with operating authority who is responsible and accountable for team output. However, they aren’t yet prepared to bring on a full time CTO with the corresponding compensation level or equity incentives.
