Here at Conversatio Morum, we want to utilize technology to retool organizations (specifically churches) for greater effectiveness. It’s been a little while since we’ve done an app review and I found one that is truly worthy of reviewing. I’m generally a technology agnostic, so when I get as excited as I am about an app there’s a reason. In fact, this app is so useful that I’ve changed\am changing the way I use email. WordPress – Exclude Categories From Main Page
At Conversatio Morum, we love WordPress. It’s the tool used for everything web related. So giving you a way to do neat things in WordPress sounds like a great idea.
This past week I preached at my church. It’ll be up on our podcast site soon. You can find it here. While preparing I had an idea. A lot of people ask for my notes after I teach in different settings. How cool would it be to have a place where people could just go and get my notes? So I created a separate ‘hidden’ part of my blog called notes. Continue reading “WordPress – Exclude Categories From Main Page”

Productive Interrupt Tutorial – Revised
Here at Conversatio Morum I want to give you valuable and thought-provoking content.
Why? Because I love you.
So a while back I posted about efficiency being part of our mission and then a tutorial about how to create a productive interrupt on your computer. You can read those here and here. The tutorial was created with Windows 7 and when I switched to Windows 8 I discovered that there are some differences to how to set this up. So I want to show you those differences to make this information still be useful to you. Continue reading “Productive Interrupt Tutorial – Revised”
Jesus loves the Xbox One?
By this point many of you have heard of the Xbox One that Microsoft announced a few weeks ago. In the event that you’ve been living under a rock or in a cave (where you developed some awesome armor in order to escape in a Tony Stark type ingenuity and awesomeness) then you either A) let everyone know of your armor since that will blow away anything Microsoft just developed or Continue reading “Jesus loves the Xbox One?”
CRM – Technology isn’t the Solution
At Conversatio Morum, we’re currently in the middle of talking about Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems and rethinking them as Church Relationship Management systems. We’ve previously intro’d, talked about the purpose of doing so, talked about different types of CRM’s, and why you might not want to utilize a CRM solution. You can review those posts here, here, here, and here.
Today, we are going to talk about why a CRM system isn’t actually the solution. Continue reading “CRM – Technology isn’t the Solution”
CRM – Why Not?
At Conversatio Morum, we like to rethink technology for the church. Our goal is to tie Theology to Culture through the use of Technology. With that being said, we’re currently in the middle of talking about utilizing Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems as Church Relationship Management systems. We’ve previously intro’d, talked about the purpose of doing so, and talked about different types of CRM’s here, here, and here.
Today, we are going to talk about reasons why you might NOT want to use a CRM system. Continue reading “CRM – Why Not?”

With that being said, we’re currently in the middle of talking about retooling Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems as Church Relationship Management systems. We’ve previously intro’d and talked about the purpose of doing so here and here. Continue reading “CRM – Choosing Right CRM Technology For Your Church”
CRM – Purpose of CRM in Church
Since Conversatio Morum is dedicated to Technology, Theology and Missiology we are taking time to talk about Church Relationship Management in Church (CRM in church) systems. When dealing with new visitors the most effective point of retention (i.e. having them come a second/third time and getting them to stay long-term), is follow-up. One of the biggest questions I find myself asking is “How do we get better at not letting visitors slip through the cracks?” “How do I make involvement in the life of a church easier?” Continue reading “CRM – Purpose of CRM in Church”
CRM – Church Relationship Management?
At the beginning of the year the staff of the church I serve in sat down and began to develop a strategy for the next 12 – 18 months. This has caused some extra work on my end, due to my ability with systems and structures. One of the main things that we put on our priority list is tackling how to get people involved beyond their first visit. We’ve definitely improved on our ability to get people into theĀ front door. However, we need to adjust our follow-up and involvement processes. Continue reading “CRM – Church Relationship Management?”
