The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.
I was talking to some friends last night about the idea that sometimes the best thing to do is to start. Is there a new venture you want to take on? A blog you want to write? A habit you want to develop? The best thing to do with that is to start. Do you know everything you need to know? Probably not. Do you know everything you want to know? Probably not. The only way you’re going to figure those things out is to dive in and figure it out.
People, as a general rule, want to shoot perfection. STOP. You won’t hit it even in the event that you know everything about what you’re doing. Perfection is the bar, albeit an unattainable bar. Keep that your bar, and start working towards that. The reality is that if you don’t ever do something wrong, it’s probably because you aren’t doing anything.
Doing something is always better than doing nothing. That’s when you learn, grow, and improve. So, hit register the business idea, hit publish, exercise for 5 minutes. Start.
