I had forgotten about this song until I was looking through some cd’s the other day. The lyrics made me laugh and maybe they’ll do that for you also. It is a funny way of putting it, but it rings true to the way that Jesus changes people.
Daddy, change us in a way that we live our lives differently.
“you can´t assert the kind of light
that might persuade
a strict dictator to retire
fire the army
teach the poor origami”

“and try as you may, there isn´t a way
to explain the kind of change
that would make an Eskimo renounce fur
that would make a vegetarian barbecue hamster
unless you can trace this about-face
to a certain sign…”

“out of the shaker and onto the plate
it isn´t Karma
it sure ain´t fate
that would make a Deadhead sell his van
that would make a schizophrenic turn in his crayons”

Anywho, thought you’d get a good laugh out of that and it might make you think.
In other news, heard the voice of certain friend today. I like this friend. We have been friends for several years. Said friend told me of a crises and then had to go because friend’s phone was dying. Haven’t heard back from friend. I hope that you are OK friend. I pray for you daily. I like this friend because whether they realize this or not, I see a glimpse of Jesus when I look at this person’s life. They remind me of grace and mercy; they remind me of how much I need grace and mercy. I think I like this song because of this person.
“From glass alabaster she poured out the depths of her soul.
O foot of Christ would you wait if her harlotries known?
Falls a tear to darken the dirt.
Of humblest offerings to forgive the hurt.
She is strong enough to stand in your love.
I can hear her say..
I am weak.
I am poor,
I’m broken Lord but I’m yours.
Hold me Now.
Hold me Now.
Let the first without sin cast the first stone if you will.
To say that my bride isn’t worth half the blood that I’ve spilled.
Point your finger and laugh if you choose to say my beloved is borrowed and used”

May we be continually be reminded of the grace and love of God (the celestial re-modeler) in order that we may press on to be changed by the one who loves us.
